A quintessential compact crossover and the automaker's most popular model, the Kia Sportage is a compelling option in the industry's most competitive class. It offers comfortable accommodations, generous cargo capacity, and a wealth of desirable amenities, all while retaining a convenient physical footprint with city-friendly space requirements.
Following its fifth-generation redesign in 2023, the Sportage rolls into the 2026 model year with a significant mid-cycle update, including more interior refinement, upgraded infotainment displays, and new tech options like a head-up display and remote parking assistance. It also sports a bolder exterior design with a larger grille, more muscular sculpting, and dynamic lighting clusters. You can check out the refreshed Kia Sportage firsthand here at Kia of West Nyack.
The Kia Sportage draws internal motivation from a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine that makes 187 horsepower and 178 pound-feet of torque. A smooth-shifting eight-speed automatic transmission optimizes efficiency and responsiveness, while balanced chassis and suspension tuning ensure confident handling and a smooth ride. All-wheel drive and a center-locking differential are available across the lineup, providing enhanced control in various conditions. For outdoor enthusiasts seeking to bolster their prospects beyond the asphalt, the X-Pro Prestige trim includes extra equipment like all-terrain tires and a Multi-Terrain Management system.
While it's technically part of the compact crossover class, that designation belies the Kia Sportage's impressively accommodating attributes. The cabin is attractive and inviting, exhibiting a clean, modern design, intuitive controls, and cozy yet supportive seats that ensure long-distance comfort. There's plenty of passenger space for both front and rear occupants, plus 39.6 cubic feet to spare for your luggage, gear, or groceries. When your West Nyack outings require even more cargo capacity, you can fold the rear seats to reveal 74.1 cubic feet.
The 2026 Kia Sportage is pleasingly equipped with many amenities to enhance comfort and convenience, including standard items like Smart Key Entry and remote start. Depending on the trim level or package, you can further upgrade your West Nyack drives with amenities like:
The 2026 Kia Sportage boasts an upgraded infotainment experience, making several desirable features available at lower tiers. For example, the base trim now comes standard with a dual-screen panoramic display that spans nearly 25 inches. The 12.3-inch instrument panel is configurable to your viewing preferences, making it easy to monitor important driving information while keeping your eyes on the road. The 12.3-inch touchscreen includes wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, enabling convenient access to various smartphone features without cable clutter. Available infotainment upgrades include integrated navigation, Harman Kardon premium audio, and all-new head-up display.
While nothing can replace staying alert behind the wheel, the Kia Sportage has your back with a comprehensive roster of cutting-edge safety features (many as standard equipment), including:
